GDG PIEMR On-Campus Hackathon HackXcelerate 2K26

GDGoC PIEMR successfully organized HackXcelerate 2K26, a 7-hour offline hackathon aimed at fostering innovation, problem-solving, teamwork, and technical excellence among
students. The event provided participants with an opportunity to build impactful software solutions under time constraints while working on real-world challenges.

HackXcelerate 2K26 was designed to simulate a professional hackathon environment where students could transform ideas into working prototypes through collaboration, creativity, and technical implementation.

The hackathon featured three carefully selected themes:
Future of Healthcare (AI in Healthcare)
CyberVerse (Cybersecurity & Digital Safety)
AI for Government Systems

Each theme consisted of multiple problem statements designed to encourage participants to address practical challenges using modern technologies.

Event Highlights
The hackathon witnessed participation from students across various departments and colleges, creating a highly competitive and collaborative environment.

A total of 36 teams participated in the event, with each team consisting of up to three members.
Participants worked continuously for seven hours to design, develop, and demonstrate their solutions.

To ensure fairness and quality evaluation, separate judging panels were assigned for each theme.
Teams presented their solutions through a live demonstration instead of traditional presentation slides, allowing judges to evaluate the actual implementation and functionality of each project.

Hackathon Schedule

Activity Time
Registration 8:30 AM – 8:50 AM
Opening & Instructions 8:50 AM – 9:00 AM

Problem Statement Release
To encourage strategic planning while maintaining competitive fairness, problem statements were released 24 hours before the hackathon.
Participants were allowed to prepare their project architecture, frontend structure, database design, and planning in advance. However, the majority of implementation and development was expected to be completed during the official hackathon duration.
This approach enabled students to focus on innovation and execution while still experiencing the pressure of a real-time hackathon.
