M.Tech. (CAD/CAM Engineering)

About The Course

The M.Tech Program in Mechanical Engineering under the specialization of CAD/CAM Engineering focuses on the application of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) technologies in the engineering field. It aims to provide students with advanced knowledge, skills, and practical experience in utilizing CAD/CAM tools and techniques for designing and manufacturing processes.

In 2019 the Indian CAD software market size was $445.6 million, and it is expected to reach $696.9 million by 2025. The market is anticipated to grow at a CAGR of 8.2% during the forecast period (2020- 2025).

The program covers advanced topics in CAD/CAM, including advanced modeling techniques, parametric modeling, surface modeling, reverse engineering, rapid prototyping, virtual simulation, and optimization.

Students are trained in using industry-standard CAD/CAM software packages like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Pro/ENGINEER, etc. They learn to create and modify 2D and 3D models, perform simulations, generate tool paths, and optimize manufacturing processes.

This program offers excellent career growth as professionals with expertise in CAD/CAM exist in industries like manufacturing, automotive, defence, etc., thus making it a promising field for career growth and development.
