PIEMR Maths Club, under the aegis of the Department of Applied Science and Humanities (ASH), celebrated National Mathematics Day on 22nd December, 2022 to commemorate the immense contribution of the greatest Mathematician, S. Ramanujan. To mark this day ASH Department organized various competitions like Poster Making, Mathematical Model or Project Models from best out of waste, and Online Mathematical Quiz.  The overwhelming response from all the budding Engineers of B.Tech First Year was visible from their enthusiastic participation in various events. While inaugurating the event, Dr. Manojkumar Deshpande, Director of PIEMR, admired the efforts put up by the students and motivated them to apply mathematics as much as possible in their day-to-day lives. Dr. Hemant Sharma, HOD ASH, and Prof Yash Shah successfully coordinated the event.

On the occasion of yet another event of the Idea Presentation Competition in association with PIEMR Institution Innovation Council (IIC) under the guidance of Dr. Manojkumar Deshpande, the Director of PIEMR provided a platform to students showcase their talents on the theme “Startup/ Innovation.” The thrust areas for this competition were inspiration, motivation, and ideation enabled the submission of 40 overall ideas, out of which 25 were shortlisted and presented. The submission of ideas was made through the MIC Yukti portal. The event was judged by Dr. Dipali Sarvate, HOD Electrical Department, and Prof. Sadhana Tiwari from Electronics & Communication Department and coordinated by Dr. Dipti Chauhan and Dr. Sachin Agrawal.

PIEMR is also proud to share and congratulates Altamas Ayub Bhutto from B.Tech Third Year for receiving Gold Medal in State Level Archery Competition held at Jabalpur on 24th November 2022. 

The Nodal Level Yoga Championship of RGPV University was conducted at PIEMR, Indore, on 28th November 2022. Like other Championships PIEMR, Indore Boys’ and Girls’ Teams again grabbed the Nodal Level Yoga Championship and remained the winner proving their supremacy in Yoga Championships.  The Runner Up in the Boys’ category was IES IPS College, and SGSITS College in the Girls’ category. The Judge for this Championship was Mr. Manish Sharma, and The Chief Guest was Dr. Manojkumar Deshpande, Director PIEMR, who appreciated the participants’ efforts. The Championship was witnessed by Mr. Jamil Khan, Indore Nodal In-Charge, along with Sports Officers and Faculty Members from other Colleges, namely Mr. Dheeraj Verma, Ms. Rohini, Mr. Dharmesh Barodiya, and Mr. Ayush Patidar. The Championship was successfully conducted by Mr. Vikram Hansari, Sports Officer, PIEMR.

Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering initiated the establishment of the PIEMR-IETE Student Forum at Prestige Institute of Engineering Management & Research on 17th November 2023. The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is a Professional Society that focuses on providing education in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering by organizing various Workshops and Seminars which the leading Professionals and Scholars of this field take.

Dr.R.S Gamad, Professor SGSITS, felicitated with IETE Research Recognition Award, was the chief guest for Inauguration Ceremony. He stated the importance of Professional Society and its role in Research, Projects, and Academics. He also motivated students for hard work and ethical behavior in their Professional lives. He also briefed about various techniques to excel in the field of Research and Innovation. Dr. Manojkumar Deshpande extended his best wishes for the successful conduction and execution of events under the IETE Forum. Prof. Mahendra Singh Thakur is the Department Head, Prof. Sadhana Tiwari is the Faculty In-Charge, and Ms. Rajnandani Kushwah is the student coordinator for this PIEMR-IETE Student Forum. 

The Vision of PIEMR, “to Strive continuously for Academic Excellence by providing the Best Contemporary and Functional Education,” proved worthy when its students attended the International Summer School Program conducted by Warsaw University of Technology, Poland. This golden opportunity was the outcome of the MoU signed between PIEMR and Warsaw University, Poland. The broad spectrum of exposure received by the students related to Knowledge, Technology, Management, Generosity, Soft Skills, Language & Culture, different environment, and non-discrimination helped shape their personality and perspective toward life.

The Final Year students availed of this International Program are Manjeeri Thakre from Computer Science Engineering, Tushar Pal, Amisha Shah, and Anjali Yadav from Electronics & Communication Engineering Department. One week-long Summer School Program focused on “Process Modelling” and enlightened students about Business Process Management, Business Process Modelling Workshop, Logistics Management, evaluation of efficiency in the enterprise, Modelling of Production Processes, Modern Management Methods, and concepts in process improvement.

Students narrated the virtues of the Polish nation being a progressive, hard-working nation, paying particular attention to hospitality, as indicated by the Polish saying, “A guest in the house, God in the house.” The whole experience proved to be a treasure they will cherish in their future career and throughout their lives.

Students expressed their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Davish Jain, Chairman, PEF, Er. Ketan Jain, Director PEF, and Dr. Manojkumar Deshpande, Director PIEMR, for providing the International platform, and special thanks to Dr. Reena Disawal for coordinating this Student Exchange Program. This successful venture has opened the doors for further planning of Training with the Warsaw University of Technology, Poland.

Vishvakarma Jayanti on 17 September 2022 was the day of twofold celebrations at PIEMR as it happened to be the 92nd Birthday of the Founder Chairman of Prestige Group, Padmashri Dr. N.N. Jain. The onset of festivities began with Mechanical Engineering Department by performing Pooja of Lord Vishwakarma and all the Machines of the Department with full fervor and enthusiasm. This was followed by a special Felicitation Event where the Chief Guest was Shri Shailendra Sharma from Madhya Pradesh State Skill Development & Employment Generation Board. The event started with an interactive Q&A session with Shri Shailendra Sharma based on Employability, Skill Development, and Startups. On occasion, Dr. Manojkumar Deshpande, Director of PIEMR, briefed about twenty Startup registrations at AICPIF by PIEMR. The event concluded with felicitation of Faculty, Staff, and Student achievers in various categories.

“Science is about knowing and Engineering is about doing” is the aspiration that PIEMR is committed to inculcating in the students. With this notion, Engineers’ Day was celebrated on 15 September 2022, the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Awardee Shri Visvesvarya, one of the finest Engineering legends of India. All the Engineering Departments organized various Technical and Career Oriented Events like Poster Making Competitions, Quiz Competition, Innovative Idea sharing, Technical Treasure Hunt, and 8-hour Octathon for future budding Engineers. Students’ overwhelming participation and involvement in all the activities demonstrated their enthusiasm and wished to exhibit their skills.

On 29th August 2022, PIEMR, Indore, in association with AICPIF, conducted an Industry interaction hosted by GFID. Hon. Shri Shankar Lalwani explained the support to Start-Ups from the Government of India. Shri P Narhari, Principal Secretary, MSME, Govt. of MP, joined virtually and briefed about Govt support to MSME. On occasion, PIEMR requested support from the Govt. of M.P., which was assured and subsequently incorporated on paper.

Dr. Patni and Mr. Bhandari also expressed their views along with Dr. Manojkumar Deshpande, Director PIEMR, who presented Industry 4.0 Technology and articulated how MSME can implement it in a phased manner. Mr. Sahoo of MSME & Mr. Taha Malik of Headstart also addressed the gathering.

From PIEMR, Dr. Pandya demonstrated Industry 4.0 Setup at Dr. NN Jain Centre of Excellence along with Mr. Shimpi and Professionals from Janatics India, followed by Dr. Lokesh Boriwal and Mr. Dharmesh Barodia, who presented Industry Case Study which was based on Industry visited by them for detail study.

The event was successfully conducted due to complete support from Volunteers and Placecom Students under the guidance of Mr. Saurabh Bhattacharya.

PIEMR Computer Science Engineering Students Team added yet another feather to its cap by bagging First Position in the Prestigious Smart India Hackathon 2022, an initiative of our honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, at TINT, Kolkata Nodal Centre. The Final Year Computer Science Engineering Students’ Team named BHASHA @ DIAL 100 comprising Siddhi Sharma, Shobha Dhande, Vansheeta Soni, Vishal Singh, Vicky Raghuwanshi and Samyukth Nambiar under the valuable mentorship of Dr. Dipti Chauhan and Dr. Aradhana Negi became the very well deserved winners of 8 trophies, 8 Certificates and cash prize worth Rs. One Lakh.

The problem statement was given under the Category of CENTRAL MINISTRY, Sub Category MP POLICE under PS-ID-AT987. The task was Speech to Text Conversion for the local ethnic languages of MP during live calls.

Dr. Manojkumar Deshpande, Director of PIEMR, played a crucial role in motivating students to participate. Furthermore, all-around support from Dr. Piyush Chaudhary, HOD Computer Science Engineering, Prof. Sadhana Tiwari, Coordinator SIH, and all Faculty and Staff of the Department proved worthwhile in achieving this milestone.  PIEMR also extends hearty congratulations to the winning students’ proud parents.

The Indian National Flag is a symbol of National Pride for the entire nation; hence to mark the celebrations of the 75th Independence Day from 13th to 15th August as the “AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV” Government of India has planned Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign. This campaign envisages inspiring Indians everywhere to hoist the National Flag.

Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign celebrations at PIEMR commenced with the waving of National Flags in the Tiranga March at the College Campus by all Faculty Members, Staff, and Students. This moment inculcated pride for National Flag and Nation in everyone’s heart. Dr. Manojkumar Deshpande, Director PIEMR, on the occasion, briefed that the motto behind this initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the citizens and promote love and respect for our national flag and nation. The whole program was well coordinated by Dr.Bindiya Sharma, Prof Yash Shah, and Mr. Vikarm Hansari.
